Having a tough time getting amazon reviews for a newer product. We’ve been selling ~40 units a month and using feedback whiz to auto send review requests 5 days after delivery. However, we probably got 1 new review out of ~80 review request emails we sent.

Since Amazon is very strict on language used on the review request email, we’re just using the standard layout (attached). Will be adding in an insert in a couple weeks to nudge reviews but but was wondering:

  1. What have people seen for review conversions? Is 1 out of 80 review request emails normal?
  2. Does using amazon’s standard email template yield the highest conversion?

For the insert, we were thinking of creative ways to get customers to opt-in so we can get contact info since amazon doesn’t allow asking for reviews on inserts.

So we’re doing a “talk to the founder” thing where

  1. Customer scans the qr code on insert which leads to a klaviyo sign up form
  2. Customer enters in their sms number which pop ups a pre-written text to our number that they can send and opt-in
  3. they get an auto-message from the founder saying hi and asking what they thought about the product
  4. The founder will also engage with the customer to build rapport
  5. If the customer is happy, ask to leave an amz review. If they’re not happy, resolve the issue directly and prevent a 1 star review.

WOW this sounds super smart and excited to hear how it goes......some people who come to mind who might have some 2 cents are <@U09V4GB3J1K> <@U09GS3W55L0> and maybe <@U09GBH12VG8> (likely just flaggin for him to follow)?

@Simal Adenwala That actually sounds like a great strategy and I would love to know how it works for you. We never implemented a strategy for collecting reviews. My situation was unique where I was the first to market for a product many people eager to get and so the reviews came on their own. I have heard that Helium10 has a review request feature built-in. Have you tried that as well? Cc @Brian Von Ancken
