Hi all, have been dealing with a banned Meta ad account for the last 2 months. Long story short: we had multiple ads erroneously reported by an AI bot for copyright claims, which lead to our account getting banned automatically with no notice. We have struggled to get Meta support to reactivate it despite complying with everything they’ve asked over the last 7 weeks.
We even got the company behind the bot to retract their reports, but Meta still hasn’t reinstated the account.
Wondering if anyone has ideas / advice and/or has dealt with a similar situation before?
hey @Jason Jin I didn't have the exact same experience with an AI bot but I have dealt with a similarly frustrating meta ban. happy to chat about it and see if I can help. It seems like your in touch with them consistently.. but if not, you can create a support ticket via shopify and you'll get someone on the chat within min and they can even call you/screen share on request. I'd keep hammering at them and if you clean up what you need to clean up you should be ok. for us it required creating a new business profile and putting it under a new owner (me vs my co-founder).. which is logistically annoying but they can help walk you through those logistics. when an account or profile is flagged it's not a person rescinding that flag on meta they're waiting for the meta AI to recognize it (which can take a bit). in our case they helped recognize that my co-founder account was flagged so it's toxic to the algo. quickest fix is to get the toxic profile out

i’ve not tried via shopify before, how do I go about doing that?
I’ve talked to folks from “Meta support pro” severals times over a live call / screenshared but they just sent me in endless circles (and even made me take a course on ad compliance)…
in your case, which profile was “flagged”? Was it the personal FB account the ad account is attached to? Or the business IG account itself? Or the business portfolio?
i’ve been rebuilding in a new business portfolio account and ad account. wondering if I will need to restart on the meta pixel (this is currently owned by the original business portfolio) as well?
@Aaron Driver or @Pierre might know?
I also pinged our contact at Meta so I'll see what he says!
Thanks Brian! I’ve tried to go through a few Meta reps (including our agency’s rep) as well but their hands are tied unfortunately if they’re not directly managing our brand 😕
Shopify --> Facebook & Instagram Sales Channel --> Get Support
@Jason Jin — in the worst-case scenario, create an entirely new Business Manager, ad account, and pixel (using a different credit card). Start warming up the new account and pixel with low ad spend and clean ads.
Thanks Pierre! That’s what we’ve been doing, but performance still hasnt caught up to where our old account was at
Yeah, that takes some time. Have you observed Blended CAC to be rising proportionately?
