this is the nerd in me but i wonder what the environmental results have to do with what's going on in my own body - there seems to be a pretty big disconnect sometimes between the environmental contaminants and what an individual's body is able to "detox" on its own, and I've talked to other docs who find it somewhat mysterious. Some folks who try very hard to get rid of all environmental harms still have higher tested microplastics in their body, for example.

Anyways, probably like with all matter of measurement we are still working through the R&D!

#asks-offers-advice - September 03, 2025 at 06:12 PM

This is great! it told me everything about my zip code is terrible except maybe lead and asbestos haha. I always wonder what really could be done in NYC other than filtering air and water as much as possible. I do generally think my indoor environment probably matters a lot more given how much time I'm in here. Also maybe a comparison or some context to understand what this might mean for me/health/

I like the design too!

we both have UHs but also both don't love rings in general haha (he's off all wearables, i'm using the Apple Watch most of the time)

wow nutty! I have heard that Oura is very aggressive on the legal front, which I suppose is one way to go about it (Apple-esque in approach)

I am so into it - bring it on soft clubbing 🙌

Hi! sry late to the thread. fwiw I think consumers are like medium smart about science and can't seem to tell the difference between good and bad scientific evidence, and the quality of science is so bad these days I'm (from my clinical/scientific lens) mainly disappointed in most studies.

That aside, I think they certainly can help support a narrative regardless of actual quality of science if your goal is to support marketing!

Value of getting support from science communicators can appeal to a more discerning crowd. Some folks can't understand the primary source readily (the scientific paper) but they have go-to influencers they'll trust (Peter Attia, Huberman, Rhonda Patrick, etc who will scrutinize papers for them).

Ferry to Gov Island for outdoors day, bring a book or picnic, West Village cafe/bar or Soho walkaround while weather is nice - get cronuts at Dom Ansels for less healthy snack 😄 , BK bridge/waterfront walk!

#asks-offers-advice - June 04, 2025 at 09:36 PM

Speakeasy Magick - pricey but amazing - The Magician is cheaper and also great - bet you have tons of shows but just to throw one in there if Picture of Dorian Gray is still going on that was quite different and super fun/impressive

#asks-offers-advice - June 04, 2025 at 09:35 PM

Love all the above! I also like Bathhouse - haven't found another spot yet for soaking and I like the variety of rooms. Also Stretched to get a great assisted stretch haha.

Comedy Cellar! Not healthy at all but cheap and fantastic - any of the locations are great.

Governor's Island gets you a quick ferry ride and also there's this amazing immersive show going on https://deathofrasputin.com/ - just went recently and loved it.

I'm part of a NYC Tech Week Panel Monday June 2 @ 6PM and we're looking for more experts to join if any folks fit the bill!
Doctors and scientists working in precision/longevity innovation would be ideal.

What a fantastic summary write up here and can't agree more!

Things are gonna get weird now that general healthcare companies are adopting the longevity label...

#asks-offers-advice - May 03, 2025 at 04:23 PM

That was fast! We had our first 3 signups for our white-labeled, turnkey longevity programs (we bring med/tech/legal infra). Would love more connects to contacts at health and wellness brands interested in adding a big longevity catalogue (lab testing, supplement/meds, oversight by doctor for everything, live MD consults as an add-on) as an added revenue channel.

Offering a platform fee waiver (just pure revenue share/upside) for a couple more brands open to piloting with us.

Connect via DM or hillary@elevatexhealth.com|hillary@elevatexhealth.com ty!

#asks-offers-advice - May 03, 2025 at 01:59 AM

This is great! Do we have a go-to guide for best practices for approaching said influencers, etc? Or literally do people email with the pitch? Happy to learn from others!

#random - May 01, 2025 at 06:13 PM

Agree with all the above that things are super personal and as you can see, there are a million potential tools/protocols, but very few "root cause solutions."

The problem is mainly that modern life is not well suited for healthy sleep, and no matter how much you try it'll be one thing or another that gets you. Also, if you do 10 things at once, it often leads to a dependency to a protocol (which is psychological, like having a safety blanket). The most root cause solution would really be to live in the wild, farm/hunt during the day, never look at screens or the news, and sleep like a baby. But yeah no one does this.

When I work with patients, we try a lot of different things but I'll tell you some general trends:
• For women, progesterone (oral) starting in perimenopause (starts in your 30s) can help with the beginnings of hormone-related sleep disturbances
• Men tend to do better with cooling, some women too (but many women actually get way too cold with cooling pads)
• Huge amount of genetic variability as to when and how insomnia gets you
• COVID can really mess you up, but it can get better
• Supplements affect every person very differently, or even not at all. It is not subtle when it does work (if it is, it's likely in your head)
• Your natural levels of melatonin are about 100-300 mcg a night, which is 1/10 the amount in even the gummies marketed for babies. Keep that in mind the next time you reach for higher and higher doses (definitely do not recommend the 10mg doses)
• Prescription sleep meds when needed are fine. My go-tos are trazodone and ramelteon, but for people with great insurance coverage Quviviq and similar are fantastic. Avoid Z drugs (ambien etc)
• I think we've gotten a little fanatical about blue light. Yes, some people are more sensitive than others, but there's a study-backed theory about how it's mainly the stuff on the screens (dopamine triggers) rather than the blue light that gets us. Also, brightness itself is often a bigger culprit than color.
• All things lead to a kind of tolerance and dependency, unfortunately - see the main point around few/no root cause solutions

As a physician in the space, New Amsterdam Genomics is def not sexy but it is my favorite for scientific validity! They're all kind of iffy when they start going into clinical implications though

#asks-offers-advice - April 09, 2025 at 04:57 PM

Hi! Anyone available for a project to help a physician who wants to edit and package a podcast episode (could turn into an ongoing contract but wants to test the first)?

#asks-offers-advice - April 06, 2025 at 02:17 AM

Thank you! Also looking for a nimble designer who can do a fast project for my team as we're creating some mock ups and demos. Feel free to DM or email me at hillary@elevatexhealth.com|hillary@elevatexhealth.com

#asks-offers-advice - April 03, 2025 at 02:59 AM

Been speaking to marketing agencies and starting to feel like there must be a better option in the age of lovable and similar to build a beautiful marketing website and brand than to pay $150K and take 3-4 months.

Any folks have super talented leads for either a nimble team or fractional CMO type that might be able to help with branding and marketing website (plus if they'll do healthtech marketing strategy, socials, etc). Technical experience a plus - we prefer in-house dev over outsourced although open to both.

We're B2B2C in the precision longevity space. Not super consumer although this world leans consumer style even for B2B.

#asks-offers-advice - March 19, 2025 at 02:33 AM

Hi all! We're embarking on our $15M seed raise for our longevity clinical platform (One Medical for Longevity) and would love to hear suggestions for firms that could lead (writes checks $5M+) and be aligned in strategy. Note our GTM is a rollup, which is somewhat unusual, and we have a heavy AI component.

OK if you don't know well enough to intro (although that is appreciated too). Just making sure I'm casting a wide enough net! Happy to share more if you DM

Got this random outreach in case folks in NYC are looking to raise

I’m the organizer of NYC HealthyTech.connect, an in person (live) event focused on startups (emerging growth companies) in the health, digital health or wellness space.
I’m reaching out to you to see if you can recommend companies we should consider as presenting companies at our next HealthyTech.connect event.
I’m looking for companies that are fund raising or getting ready to fund raise. Our event gets between 50-70 attendees and is comprised of entrepreneurs, investors, industry executives, and individuals who are interested in advancing the agenda of early stage companies / technologies. We typically have three or four companies present and we have a panel of investors who judge the presentations.
As someone who is a member of the startup community, I’m reaching out to you to see if you could recommend health / healthytech / wellness startups who could be interested in presenting at one of our future events? There is no fee or charge for companies to present.
Below my signature is the invitation to one of our past events.
If you want additional information, please feel free to reach out and suggest a time that we can speak.
Thank you in advance for your consideration.
Best,
Ted

Any strong recs for healthcare legal teams? We would ideally work with a team familiar with both startups as well as M&A.
