Tonight’s family game night will be tough to beat!
No small feat to have both our 14 year old and our 11 year old forgo a night with their friends - on Halloween weekend no less - to join their little brother and my wife and me for Game 7 - we had* front row seats (on our couch at home!) for all the action.

Parenting hack / Humblebrag:
Take the opportunity to get your steps in when you can particularly when you can stack them while at kids’ sporting event.
Just broke off a 10 K + walk during my 14 year old’s travel soccer game.
Bonus pro tip: Try to time your laps such that you’re near the goal when the ball is in the box for optimal viewing.

With 3 kids in 3 different schools (lower, middle and high) morning departure window is LOOONG.
My youngest, the third grader, is definitely struggling without a buddy (he’s never had this experience) but it’s been nice having one one one time with him at this early hour.
With the weather being so nice, (we, too, try to limit screens, particularly in the mornings), I encouraged him to go play outside but then realized that would be petty lonely, so I followed him and challenged him to H-O-R-S-E 🏀 (and then P-I-G because were short on time 😝 )
Reader, he kicked my butt.
Other than that, all is great on this front. So happy school is back in session!!
