I agree! Has helped me a ton as well 🙂. Wednesdays for me are no meetings/deep work. Great way to break up the week.

For the insert, we were thinking of creative ways to get customers to opt-in so we can get contact info since amazon doesn’t allow asking for reviews on inserts.

So we’re doing a “talk to the founder” thing where

  1. Customer scans the qr code on insert which leads to a klaviyo sign up form
  2. Customer enters in their sms number which pop ups a pre-written text to our number that they can send and opt-in
  3. they get an auto-message from the founder saying hi and asking what they thought about the product
  4. The founder will also engage with the customer to build rapport
  5. If the customer is happy, ask to leave an amz review. If they’re not happy, resolve the issue directly and prevent a 1 star review.

Having a tough time getting amazon reviews for a newer product. We’ve been selling ~40 units a month and using feedback whiz to auto send review requests 5 days after delivery. However, we probably got 1 new review out of ~80 review request emails we sent.

Since Amazon is very strict on language used on the review request email, we’re just using the standard layout (attached). Will be adding in an insert in a couple weeks to nudge reviews but but was wondering:

  1. What have people seen for review conversions? Is 1 out of 80 review request emails normal?
  2. Does using amazon’s standard email template yield the highest conversion?

Chat GPT came out with a group chat feature where you can brainstorm ideas and have chat gpt expand on them + give more info. Used it recently for a organic social brainstorm with 2 other teammates. It beefed up our ideas and helped suggest catchy hooks for some videos.

Ah that’s good insight! and lmao at them complaining about price even though it was free. We’ll be cautious of that forsure since we sell indian masala peanuts at $24.45 (3 pack so $8.15 a packet) so compared to normal peanuts a bit pricier.

Did you see a rough increase in reviews when you added the inserts or was it hard to tell?

#asks-offers-advice - September 10, 2025 at 05:14 PM

echoing what others said. Had the exact experience at immi ramen when I was leading it. Built everything fully in house. It crushed then stopped, crushed then stopped. Ended up not being profitable due to all the extra fees and pretty much required discounting needed to interest customers.

Tho I’d still say Euka.ai was super super solid compared to other outreach tools. I think they’re about to raise money too which is a good sign. I also recruited creators from discord and made a group where I’d coach on how to sell. We’d pay them $500-$1000 a month for 30 videos. Worked then fell flat as it was super hard to find converting creators on these discord chats.

Hi! We launched our product on amazon recently but are struggling with getting customers who purchased to review. We have a review request automation set up on helium 10 but no reviews have come from that. We were considering adding in small inserts into each package we send out to provide their review on amazon with a qr code leading to it.

Has anyone tried the insert strategy and was it a worthwhile investment to get more reviews faster? Open to other strats too 🙂

we’ll be on prime in nov so will use vine reviews but wanted something in the meantime

Any brands looking to make merch/apparel/accessories for their brand or have done so in the past? Who do you usually use?

Hi @Jackie Tsontakis! Was curious if you decided to go with gospel or agentio and if it’s working?

#asks-offers-advice - June 12, 2025 at 06:54 PM

Hi! Happy to chat on how we approached it at immi! I wasn’t super hands on but can share some insights/perspectives based on what I saw and agencies/tools we used.

#asks-offers-advice - June 12, 2025 at 06:52 PM

Hi! Sorry for the late reply! We’ve tried a ton of different tools but found the best success on Insense for content that we can reuse for ads. We still run a lot of ads that feature the content we received from insense. The creators follow the script very well and are pretty professional, quality on avg is solid. You do get low quality here and there but we still use this tool for ours ads!

Also used mini social 2x. It was like $2k for 30 short form videos but we got 50 lol the first time. I’d say 60% weren’t that great or ok but a few were solid and we included those as meta ads that performed well for a bit. We just reuse that content in other ads now though. It was good for getting reaction videos of our high protein ramen. The results are kind of all over the place even though you give guidelines but a good place to start if you dont’ have any ugc and need a ton quickly.

happy to intro to either one if still looking.

Used to use carro but they deprecated that feature 😞
Haven’t found a solid alternative tbh

Does anyone have their product in a grocery store like Whole Foods, sprouts, target etc.? Can be any CPG product.

Have a couple questions on how to get data points on retail customers

Thanks for sharing! Does it show demographic info about who visits your site though? I wasn’t able to find it on their page.

Was mainly using quantcast to learn more about users on our site like age, gender, interests etc

Does anyone use quantcast to help inform demographic info about your customers/brand?

Would love to chat with someone on their experience and share notes 👋

Hi! If you’re just getting into it and just want a no cost way to just start up and are ok with targeting influencers first, I highly suggest shopify collabs.

It’s free and very very easy to set up. We’ve been using them for 3 years back when it was dovetail and pre-shopify acquisition.

It is not as robust as others but it’s satisfied all my major needs like application process for new affiliates, auto code and auto gift sends, custom tracking links, sales pages, payouts etc.

Their search is alright, we source in other ways so it’s not an issue for us.

Just note that there is a high switching cost when moving to a new affiliate program because you have to get your affiliates to switch over. Not the easiest, but doable.

95% of affiliates on shopify collabs for us are influencers, rest are small to mid sized publishers/writers

does anyone happen to have a Nosh insiders account so I can read this article written about us 😅 : https://www.nosh.com/news/2024/distribution-immi-finds-military-consumer-base/

Would appreciate it 🙌

Hi! I heavily used google optimize until it was deprecated. We don’t use much now as we have a few winning LP’s that continue to perform well

Anyone familiar with amazon affiliates or used this tool before?: https://levanta.io/

Has anyone been able to properly set up youtube affiliates with shopify for their cpg product?

#asks-offers-advice - September 17, 2024 at 09:36 AM

You tried 10 on insense?

Minisocial we got 50ish videos. 10 were used in ads and 3-4 were roas positive.

Rest of the content was included in other ads as b roll mainly of reaction content which always looks good

And now we are reusing those videos on tts as shoppable content since its more about quantity for us rn

Insense I can’t recall but I’d say 50% at least did well on ads for a couple months. They followed our requirements much more than mini social too. Minisocial was random. Some of the videos were pretty bad and we got refunded for those. They promise 25 but it can go up too

And then we end up making even more ads and reuse clips from insense creators or reactions they do or certain things they say

If you’re looking for influencer paid collabs then I’d suggest getting an EA to build lists. It’s basic but it’s by far the best way I’ve found stellar people to promote products like no question. I’ve used so many tools but the manual way seems the best for us.

For IG, I mainly tell my EA what search terms to look for in app and to look at the related tab for an influencer.

For YT, it’s keyword driven and I have them sort by recent videos that are popping off. For YT, I also search similar brands/competitors and try to find videos they sponsored. I copy the link/code style they use in the description then search it on youtube to find all the creators they work with. Chances are if they worked with a youtuber several times and their product is similar or comparable to ours, I feel we could do well too.

For ex. we’re a high protein ramen brand so I look for other high protein cpg brands that are sponsoring due to audience overlap and then get rates + negotiate from there

If you’re looking strictly for UGC that you can repurpose for social or running meta ads:

minisocial -> to get a ton of varied content for cheap. Some videos are ok but some are really well done and performed well for us as meta ads for a couple of months

Insense pro -> a bit pricier but amazing interface and you can get really high quality content + angles. We had good success from here with running some as meta ads or just reusing in other content.

I have heard a bit about saral but haven’t used it yet but sounds promising 🙂

Welcome @Alyssa Kluge! I’m the first hire at immi and Nick Green invested in us in the early days. We do pretty well at Thrive Market too 🙂

Would love to connect and chat about PR as it’s something I tried on and off in the past year internally.
